Detailed East Africa Tour Plan

 

Day 1: Nairobi/Maasai Mara
Depart from our Nairobi office for a journey South along the floor of the Great Rift Valley. Drive past Narok town then climb the western wall entering Hemingway's "Serengeti Plains" country. Arrive for lunch at Siana Springs in Mara Game Reserve. Afternoon game drive, Dinner and overnight at a lodge or luxury tented camp.

Day 2: Maasai Mara
Full day spent in search of Elephants, Zebra, Wildebeest, Rhino, Buffalo, Lion, Cheetah, Leopard and other plains game. All meals and overnight at a lodge or luxury tented camp.

Day 3: Maasai Mara
Full day game viewing. Meals and overnight at a lodge or luxury tented camp.

Day 4: Maasai Mara/Nakuru
After breakfast leave the Camp and depart for Nakuru. Lunch is served enroute. Lake Nakuru is renowned for its large variety of birds. Besides birds for which its world famous its possible to see other game such as Rhino, Water Buck, Impala, Buffalo and Gazelle in the surrounding gardens. Dinner and overnight at a lodge or luxury tented camp.

Day 5: Lake Baringo - Lake Bogoria
Leave Nakuru for both Lakes Baringo and Bogoria. You will have a one-hour boat ride on Lake Baringo. Lunch at Lake Bogoria Hotel and dinner and overnight at a lodge or luxury tented camp.

Day 6: Lake Baringo/ Uganda
After breakfast leave for Uganda (Kampala) dinner and over night at Serena 

Day 7:  Murchison Falls National Park

Begin the panoramic drive north-west through the famous Luwero Triangle and Masindi Town to Murchison Falls National Park arriving in time for a picnic lunch at the spectacularly situated site at the top of the Falls where you can see  the Nile's beauty perfected! !   Marvel at the Nile, compressing from upto 1 km squeeze through a 7 metre canyon dropping 150 metres with a thunderous roar creating a beautiful rainbow, a plume of spray and the best thing that happened to the Nile..."the Murchison Falls". Enjoy the sunset as you return to the lodge.  Enjoy the superb comfort and service of  Paraa Safari Lodge or Nile Safari Camp. 

Day 8: Victoria Nile

Cross the placid Victoria Nile to the northern Bank.  Your guide will help you spot Elephant, Lion, Cape buffalo, Rothschild's giraffe, hartebeest, Waterbuck, Oribi, Bushbuck,  Bohor reedbuck, hyena and if you are lucky, the leopard.  After a packed lunch picnic, go for a boat safari upstream the calm Victoria Nile to the base of the falls stopping just tens of metres from the "Devil's Cauldron". En-route, marvel at the toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over this 17 km stretch you may see elephant, waterbuck and Uganda Kob.  This is also a zone of many bird species like Goliath heron, Egyptian goose, pelican bee-eater, kingfisher, hornbill, cormorant and the rare shoebill stork.

Day 9: Fort Portal

All day drive south via Hoima to Fort Portal through verdant countryside and past traditional homesteads and farms.  Fort-Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon.  Dinner and overnight at Kibale Tented Camp.

Day 10: Kibale

Full day search of chimpanzee and 10 other primate including phoestes, red colobus, blues, red tailed and grey cheeked mangabey.  The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but also on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is both informative and enjoyable.  This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters. Dinner and overnight at Kibale Tented Camp.

Day 11: Queen Elizabeth National Park

Proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park following the mystical Ruwenzori Mt. Range.  A game drive en route to view lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo, hyena and a variety of antelope species.  Enjoy the unique 2 hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel  into lake Edward.  This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of hippos. This launch cruise offers an excellent platform for photography, bird watching and game viewing.  The prolific bird life is colourful and stupendous with well over 550 resident species.  Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge for two nights.

Day 12: Rwenzori

Two game drives today.  Queen Elizabeth National Park's diverse eco-system of grassy plains, tropical forest, rivers, swamps, lakes and volcanic craters is home to an incredible abundance of wildlife.  Game drives in this park, with the massive Rwenzoris as a backdrop provides excellent opportunities to see lion, leopard, giant forest hog, cape buffalo, elephants, defassa waterbuck, Uganda Kob, Topi and bush buck. These two game drives and the boat trip (taken prior) are a memorable method of discovering a vast array of  wildlife.

Day 13: Mwanza (Tanzania)

Early morning departure to Maramagambo Forest, visitors can climb through tropical forest and catch a glimpse of a variety of primates, including chimpanzee. Visit the Bat Caves and the “ Blue Lake”. Drive onwards to Kampala for connecting flight to Tanzania (Mwanza)  On arrival at the  Mwanza Airport,dinner and over night at Hotel Tilapia.

Day 14: Serengeti
After breakfast, take your picnic Lunch and Drive to the Serengeti    National Park Game drive en- route, then Proceed to the lodge for dinner an Overnight in the late evening.

Day 15: Ngorongoro
Take Breakfast in the Lodge, and then continue with the journey; to the Ngorongoro Crater. Lunch Box will be provided.Evening Ascend to the Lodge,leisure time,dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Lake Manyara
Breakfast in the Lodge, then take your lunch box and Continue to Lake Manyara Park for half day gaming, afternoon, drive to Tarangire en-route game watching then proceed to the Lodge dinner and Overnight.

Day 17: Stone Town, Zanzibar
After breakfast you depart from Tarangire for a transfer to Arusha, where you will enjoy lunch before embarking a regional flight to Zanzibar. In Zanzibar, your first night will be spent in Stone Town, with an opportunity to explore this historic & cultural town. You will stay at Zanzibar Serena Inn. Meal Plan {Bed and Breakfast}. 

Day 18: Zanzibar Beach
Today you will be transferred to Breezes Beach Club where you will stay for the next 3 nights on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast basis. This is the perfect end to a safari as you relax and laze away the days on the white sandy beaches or in the turquoise waters. We believe that Breezes Beach Club is the ideal retreat. This beautiful hotel has a romantic charm with special surprises during your stay.  

Day 19: Zanzibar
Wake up to the morning sun, have breakfast and spend the day on the beach or swim in the sea. Your days at Breezes will seem like a fantasy as you live the island paradise dream.

Day 20: Zanzibar
The shores of Zanzibar host some of the world’s most splendid coral reefs making diving here one of the biggest attractions. The underwater marine life is a world of its own and you will want to spend hours exploring its surroundings.

Day 21: Departure
This morning you will be transferred to Zanzibar Airport for your onward travel to the next destination.
