WHO GOES TO SAFARIS?

A Tanzania safari is a perfect vacation for people of all ages from eight to eighty. A safari not particularly strenrous or tiring so any on any Reasonably good healthy should be able to enjoy their stay

WHAT WILL I SEE?

The beauty of Tanzania encompasses not only birds and animals of all shapes and sizes, but also many different Tribal people and exotic feature from Mountain to bread savannas, forests to River and dry lands

WHAT KIND OF ANIMALS WILL I SEE?

In a typical day you can expect to see the following animal species Lions, Elephants, Giraffe, Rhino, Buffaloes, Wildebeest, Zebra, Primate, cheetah, Hyena, Jackals, foxes, Wild dog, to name the few and hundreds species of birds.

HOW CLOSE WILL I GET TO THE ANIMALS?

Because you are Traveling in a protected game parks, many of the Animals have no fear as long as you are in a vehicle. You can get surprisingly close especially when lions are busy feeding on prey at rest. Sometimes elephant walk up to and even surround the vehicle. Monkeys and baboons may study you as closely as you study them.

IS A SAFARI DANGEROUS?

NO!! Not if you stay within the marked boundaries of your lodge or in your vehicle. Your guide /driver knows what is and is not, safe. Incidents involving animals are rare in Tanzania N.parks and are, almost without fail, the result of someone doing what they have been advised not to do.

WHEN IS THE MIGRATION?

The great migration is the heralded movement of millions of wildebeest zebras, gazelles; across Tanzania Serengeti plains to Masai mara game reserve in Kenya. January through May and October through November. Whether you catch the migration or not, there will always be plenty of animals, more than you could ever imagine.

HOW ARE THER ACCOMMODATIONS?

Diya tours and safaris use only the finest accommodations available. Hotel in Mwanza and Arusha are deluxe with qualities facilities. Game lodges and Hotels are imaginatively with marvelous gardens and terraces. Some of our safaris feature permanent luxury tented camps with large canvas tents erected on concrete or wood plat forms. Tented camps can also be mobile, a movable feast in the hemming way traditions. Sensitive to the environment.

HOW IS THE FOOD?

Good!! All meals- buffets –style American breakfast and sumptuous lunches and dinners- are included while on safari. In major cities, some of safaris include only bed and breakfast. The meals are well prepared, the menus varied.

HOW EXPERIENCED IS MY GUIDE?

Each vehicle has its own local driver/guide. These well-trained professionals make their living by knowing every inch of ground, making sure you have a good time. Their keen eyes and experience give them the uncanny ability to sport birds and wildlife all along the way. In addition to their wealth of knowledge about wild life, they are happy to tell you all about their life in their native land. One of the hardest parts of leaving Tanzania is saying good bye to you driver/ guide, who will have become a wonderful friend and companion.

WILL THERE BE ANY LANGUAGE PROBLEM?

No at all! English is a language. Also lodge and camp staff and most people that you will meet in Tanzania speak English. It’s fun to learn few word and phrases of SWAHILI or other Local language and your guide will help you along.

DO I HAVE TO BE IN GOOD PHYSICAL CONDITOIN?

If you’re in good health, you should have no problems at all. If in doubt, ask your doctor. Those who are taking mountain climbing at kilimanjaro, meru and Oldonyolengai Mountain, must be in good physical condition. Contact Diya tours and safaris for details.

TO DAR-ES-SALAAM IN AIR PORT: Emirates, gulf air, British airways Swiss air, Egypt air, Ethiopian airlines, alliance air, air Tanzania royal Dutch airlines, precision air)

TO NAIROBI: Kenya airways, emirates, Sabena, KLM, British airways, Swiss air Egypt air, Ethiopian airlines etc.

LOCAL TO MWANZA

By air and road  from Kenya -Nairobi , Dar es Salaam , Kilimanjaro ,Arusha and by air and ferry from Uganda Kampala and jinja. Also by ferry and air from Bukoba (Tanzania) 

WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT TANZANIA?

SERENGETI: July - November. During this period is when migratory animals are in this park.
NGORONGORO: All year- round

ARUSHA N.PARK: All year-round
TARANGIRE: July - November
NDUTU: December – February
L. MANYARA: December – June
L. NATRON: July – November

IS A SAFARI ALSO FOR CHILDREN?

A group safari is perfect for children of 5 years or older. If you have younger children you may wish to arrange a private tour through Diya tours and safaris. As safaris is more fun when two or three families go together.

WHAT TRAVEL DOCUMENTS DO I NEED?

Foreigners traveling to Tanzania require a valid passport and must also get an entry visa. Please check with the Tanzania diplomatic representatives abroad.

WHAT CLOTHES SHOULD I PACK?

Comfortable safari clothing, including a hat and a pair of good walking shoes. Cool, light clothing for the day and something warm to wear at night. Long sleeves and trousers help against insects.
